In a stunning and heartfelt conclusion to The Voice Season 27, blues rocker Adam David from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was crowned the winner during the live finale on Tuesday, May 20. Representing Team Michael Bublé, David’s journey to victory was both unlikely and unforgettable. Just a week before, he secured his place in the finale thanks to the Instant Save, a lifeline that proved pivotal.

When host Carson Daly revealed his name, the 34-year-old appeared genuinely stunned. “Everyone rushed the stage, and I was just hugging every single person, every contestant,” David told Entertainment Weekly after the show. “It could have easily been anybody, and everyone’s so amazing, and it was a real surreal moment.”

David’s win marked back-to-back victories for coach Michael Bublé, who joined The Voice as a coach just last season. With David’s victory, Bublé’s early dominance on the show is undeniable. “I don’t think I’ve ever stared at Carson Daly’s lips so intensely,” Bublé joked in a post-show interview. “I was hoping he’d start to say ‘A’ [as in Adam]. I was literally looking at his lips.”

For David, the win meant more than just a title. His journey on The Voice included open conversations about his past struggles with addiction, his path to recovery, and the importance of vulnerability. “I think anytime you’re vulnerable and you speak openly about what you’re going through, people feel more comfortable,” David said. “Vulnerability is a super-power.”

In the final moments, David edged out Team Legend’s Renzo, who placed second, followed by Team Kelsea’s Jaelen Johnston in third, and Team Adam’s Lucia Flores-Wiseman in fourth. Bublé’s other contestant, pop singer Jadyn Cree, placed fifth, just missing the finale cut. Cree, the daughter of former Voice finalist Bryan Olsen, delivered a memorable duet with Bublé during the finale — a cover of “I Got You Babe” on what happened to be Cher’s birthday. Bublé revealed he even wrote to Cher to mark the occasion.

David’s standout performances during the season included his renditions of Allen Stone’s “Unaware,” his original “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” and a soulful cover of “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker. He cited the first two as being most representative of his artistry and musical vision.

“I want to put out some music and go on tour,” David said. “I want to play. I want to play for audiences and not, you know, empty rooms.” He also hinted at returning to Broward Arts Camp, the program that helped spark his musical path in middle school. “We’re still close,” he said of the camp’s founder. “He told me when I sang, when I really sang for the first time, ‘Hey, man, that was really good.’”

The finale featured a lineup of musical heavyweights including Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Joe Jonas, Sheryl Crow, Foreigner, Bryce Leatherwood, and more, celebrating the end of a season that saw deep emotional storytelling, personal triumphs, and fierce vocal competition.

As The Voice looks ahead to its 28th season this fall, Bublé will return to the red chair, joining Niall Horan, Reba McEntire, and Snoop Dogg. But for now, it’s Adam David’s moment — a win earned through soul, struggle, and sincerity.
