The Voice Season 30 is introducing major changes to its voting system and broadcast schedule, giving fans a more immediate role in deciding which contestants advance through the competition. With the first-ever Cut Week arriving on November 2 and the Live Shows beginning November 9, viewers will need to become familiar with new voting methods, shorter voting windows, and same-night elimination results. The changes promise a different experience for audiences who have followed the singing competition for years.
One of the biggest announcements involves the introduction of two voting methods for Season 30. Instead of relying on the traditional voting system used in previous seasons, viewers will now be able to support their favorite contestants through text messages and TikTok. The new approach is designed to make participation more accessible while allowing audiences to influence the competition as performances unfold.
For text-message voting, viewers will be instructed to send the name of their chosen contestant to a designated number announced during the broadcast. The system allows supporters to participate directly from their mobile phones without needing a separate voting application. Fans should follow the instructions displayed during each episode to ensure their votes are submitted correctly and within the permitted voting period.
TikTok will also play an important role in the new voting process. Viewers can visit the official The Voice account and find the designated voting post, where they can comment with the name of the contestant they wish to support. This method introduces a social media element to the competition, allowing fans to participate through a platform already widely used for discovering music and sharing performances.
Another major change involves when voting results will be announced. Unlike previous seasons, which often featured separate elimination episodes, Season 30 will reveal results during the same broadcast as the performances. This means viewers must act quickly once voting opens, as the familiar overnight voting period will no longer be available. The revised system creates additional pressure for both contestants and their supporters.
Before the Live Shows begin, however, the competition will introduce Cut Week on Monday, November 2. The new round replaces the traditional Knockouts and Playoffs, bringing the remaining 28 contestants into one major elimination event. Coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Riley Green, and Queen Latifah must each select two singers to advance automatically before their remaining five contestants compete for one additional position.
Once the coaches have selected three contestants from each team, 12 singers will have secured their places in the Live Shows. America will then receive an opportunity to save one additional contestant, completing the official Top 13. With 15 artists facing elimination during Cut Week, the public vote could become the deciding factor for a singer whose journey would otherwise end before the live competition begins.
The voting changes arrive alongside a significant adjustment to the show’s television schedule. Beginning November 2, The Voice moves to Mondays at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC, one hour later than its previous starting time. The competition will no longer air new Tuesday episodes during the remainder of the season. Cut Week will run for two hours, while the upcoming Live Shows will generally follow a one-hour format.
Beginning November 9, the Live Shows will also be available simultaneously on NBC and Peacock across United States time zones. This represents another important development, allowing streaming viewers to watch performances and participate during the same voting windows as television audiences. The season will feature special themed episodes, including a tribute to Dolly Parton, a Y2K-themed show, and a TikTok-themed week, before reaching the finale on December 14.
With six weeks of live performances ahead, the new voting rules could have a major impact on how Season 30 unfolds. Contestants will need to deliver memorable performances while supporters must pay closer attention to voting instructions and deadlines. The competition’s winner will also receive a performance opportunity on the main stage at the 2027 Governors Ball Music Festival. As The Voice enters its next chapter, the combination of live voting, immediate results, and a revised schedule means every performance and every eligible vote could become more important than ever.
