Bindi Irwin has revealed something extraordinary about her daughter Grace — and it’s not just adorable, it’s remarkably gifted. At just four years old, Grace is already showing an impressive artistic eye, and her first photo has fans everywhere swooning.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared Sunday, Bindi, 26, posted a cozy image of herself cuddled up with husband Chandler Powell. But the sweetest part? The photo was taken by Grace herself.
“This is the first photo Grace has ever taken of us,” Bindi wrote in the caption. “She asked me if she could take a photo on my phone, looked at it, and said, ‘cuuute.’”
While it may seem like a simple moment, to Bindi, it meant everything. “Everything about these few minutes in time makes my heart happy,” she added. “It’s the little moments that really mean the most.”
Fans were quick to point out the striking similarity between Grace’s natural talent and that of her uncle, Robert Irwin. Now 21, Robert has built a reputation as an award-winning wildlife photographer, even winning the Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice Award back in 2020. It seems Grace may be picking up the family torch — not just in wildlife conservation, but behind the camera lens, too.
The sweet revelation comes on the heels of a whirlwind few months for the Irwin family. Last month, Bindi, Chandler, and Grace shared a magical visit to Disney World in Florida, with Grace beaming in a sparkly dress and Mickey Mouse ears in front of Cinderella’s Castle.
But amid the joy, the family also weathered a serious health scare. In May, Bindi was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital just hours after arriving for a gala honoring her late father, Steve Irwin. She underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix, which also revealed 14 endometriosis lesions and a previously undetected hernia.
Her brother Robert and mother Terri were by her side the entire time. “She’s going to be okay,” Robert told People at the time. “But out of all the things we were ready for, that was not one of them.”
Still, in true Irwin fashion, the family has bounced back with strength — and Grace’s unexpected talent now offers a bright spot in the aftermath. As Bindi continues to heal and Grace grows into her own, it’s clear the next generation of Irwins is already leaving a beautiful mark.
